Music has a way of speaking to my heart like nothing else can. Even as a little girl, God used music to reveal himself to me. The songs that have touched my life are more than I can count, but some have become embedded into who I am. On some of the hardest days, God brings this song by Ginny Owens to mind.
Authentic hope
Ginny’s honest lyrics come from her own experience in the valleys of life. At age 3, she lost her eye sight due to a degenerative eye condition. Despite her physical challenge and questions about why, she pursued a music career. On the hardest of nights we can remember “You never said it would be easy, you only said I’d never go alone”.
It’s perfect for a dreary rainy day like today.
Cause I’m not who I was
When I took my first step
And I’m clinging to the promise You’re not through with me yet
so if all of these trials bring me closer to you
Then I will walk through the fire
If You want me to
Let us remember the suffering His love put Him through
And let us go through the valley If He wants us to
What songs have helped you get through these tough time?

I love this song! Thank you for posting that. I have also found Christian music to minister to me in a way that nothing else can. “You are in Control” by Michael Bahn, completely verbalizes what I am feeling right now and reminds me Who is in control. It doesn’t make it easier, but it brings comfort.
Another song is “Praise You in this Storm” by Casting Crowns. Pretty much the title says it all.
I’ve never heard that Michael Bahn song, but I’m totally going to check it out. Thanks for the suggestion!
Very true, insirational
